Learning how to work with Coyote medicine

Something is already in motion.

Members of this community have already said yes to The Path of the Medicine Carrier, and I am soo excited! They are in. And I want to invite you to join them, to begin this inaugural year together, to walk a full twelve months as a cohort of people who chose to take the call seriously at the same time.

There is something that happens when a group of people commits to the same path in the same year. The field builds, and the work deepens in ways it simply cannot when you are walking alone. I have watched it happen in every container I have held, and it never stops being remarkable. It humbles me completely.

This is your invitation to be part of that field from the beginning.

For a long time, people have been asking me where to begin.

Not where to begin with breathwork or how to become a certified something or other, simply where to begin with the medicine itself. With the shamanic path. They are asking where to start with the part of this work that lives underneath the techniques, the trainings, and the certifications.

Where do I start if I want to learn this properly?

Where do I go if I feel called but I am not yet a practitioner?

Is there a place for me in your world if I am still at the beginning?

The answer has always been YES, and I just did not yet have the right container to point you toward.

That changes now. Egypt changed everything for me and asked me to step into this and make sure I had a space that everyone could join.

I also want to say something that does not get said enough.

I hear regularly from people who are in shamanic trainings elsewhere. Good trainings, reputable ones with solid curriculum and proper hours. Yet they reach out because something is happening in them that their training did not prepare them for.

  • They are opening channels they do not know how to navigate.

  • They are working with tools they have been taught to use but not taught to feel into.

  • They are having experiences in journeywork and ceremony that are real and significant, and their teacher told them to journal about it.

  • They are afraid of the expansion they are experiencing, and no one is normalizing the conversation or teaching them how to drive the new car that is them.

These students are not failing their training; their training is not built to hold what is coming through them, and so this is the gap I have built The Path of the Medicine Carrier to close.

I am here to teach you not to just walk the shamanic path, but to learn how to live inside it. How to navigate what opens in you when you start working with these realms seriously and how to stay clean in the channel. I will teach you how to work with what comes through with discernment and integrity and how to understand what you are working with rather than just doing what you were taught.

That is what the live mentorship is for. You do not come to my calls to be taught at again. You come having already received the teaching, and we go into the living reality of what it is doing in you.

The Path of the Medicine Carrier is a 12-month online shamanic training open to everyone who feels called, regardless of background, experience, or professional history. No prior shamanic study required. No certifications needed.

Over twelve months, we move through prayer, altar work, grounding, the energetic bodies, shamanic journeying and the three worlds, sacred tools, channeling, shamanic hygiene, shadow and entities, extractions, cord cuttings, soul retrieval, galactic connection and integration, and a little more.

Each month, a recorded teaching drops. You sit with it at your own pace and let it move through your body before it reaches your mind.

Then we meet live once a month on Zoom. You bring what the teaching has actually moved in you, and I meet you there. Real mentorship, not content re-delivery.

For this inaugural year only, enrollment in The Path of the Medicine Carrier includes a full twelve months of Temple of Breath and Bones membership.

This matters more than it might sound.

It means that in this first year together, you will have two monthly touchpoints with me. One through The Path of the Medicine Carrier, where we go deep into the shamanic curriculum and I mentor you inside the work. And one through the Temple, where we breathe together, journey together, and you are held in the broader community of people walking a devoted path.

Two calls a month. Two different but complementary containers. The shamanic training gives you the framework and the depth and the Temple gives you the breath, the regularity, and the belonging to additional community.

This combination will not be available in future cohorts. It is a gift for the people who choose to begin in this inaugural year.

The first recorded teaching drops on August 18.
Our first live call is on September 8 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm EST.

Early bird enrollment is open now through July 31 at $3,333 CAD.
From August 1, the investment moves to $3,888 CAD.

Payment plans available with twelve monthly payments from $292 CDN per month.

The community is already gathering and if you have felt the call, this is the month to answer it. Early bird pricing closes July 31 and will not return.

I have been waiting to open this door for a while.

I am glad you are here to walk through it.

As we opened up our bundles, we couldn't believe what we were being gifted. Each one of us receiving complete twin coyote pelts. I didn't know how to feel. I didn't feel worthy of such a powerful gift, and I certainly didn't know anything about this medicine. I was quite emotional ( what I havent included are the photos of me crying like a baby!)

So here we were, two women in midlife receiving this moment together... discovering it all together... and so our afternoon continued... joy, women of a certain age sharing, about our lives as mothers, as wives, as children of parents who are getting older with life changes, as business owners, as medicine women... we laughed, we listened... we went for a beautiful walk to the Lake.

We essentially were in a sacred circle for 24 hours. We embodied all the watery parts. It was beautiful and precious and everything you can imagine. That night I slept with the Coyote in my room, but I was naive to not think the medicine wouldn't be active. The Medicine was tricky as you can imagine, and I felt like I was a bubble in an uncorked champagne bottle all night! It was wild! We were all affected by the Coyote and its medicine that night and no one slept fully. It was as if the trickster was there to navigate the shadows for us so that we would keep talking together about how to work with it.

Yes, we know the coyote is a trickster, and yes, he was here to show me joy and levity and balance. But I felt I needed time to understand why he had come into my life and how we wanted to work with me.

Raven and I have been tasked to work with our medicine. A medicine that will most likely look a slightly different for each of us. Without knowing, we both introduced our Coyotes to our dogs when we got home that night, so that it could befriend the four leggeds in our homes!

Some teachings of Coyote Medicine is seen as a shape-shifter and sacred clown that uses surprise and irony to shock people out of habitual illness into wellness, encouraging a shift in perspective. Coyote Medicine is also fundamentally about accepting the chaotic and unexpected nature of life to find deeper, often miraculous, healing.

I found this a bit mind blowing as I recieved this medicine while I was in the throws of a crazy virus.

It took me a while to feel ready to invite my new medicine into my healing space. He had told me he was male and gave me his name, but I still wasn't sure about how we were going to walk together or how he would work with my other medicines.

This past Saturday I am packing up to hold a closing ceremony for my four apprentices. We would be in our closing plant medicine ceremony after a year of deep, devotional walking and learning. I was not intending to bring the Coyote with me as I still didnt feel like we had connected yet, but I listened, so along we went.

In the temple, as we prepared the space for the ladies to arrive and get ready to pray over night, I felt called to simply place the Coyote with my prayer belt and saced items on the bench I would be sitting on.

And this is where the teaching came - in ceremony, and in the medicine. As soon as we opend our first altar, he asked to be placed right there over my right shoulder like in the photo and so I did, and at times his tail and body wrapped around me like a sash... he worked in tandem with my prayer belt all night.

His message to me was "You see, the trickster is only one aspect. My medicine WITH you and FOR you is Protection."

I thought it would take me months to get to know this medicine and how to work with it. But within the span of 7 hours, it was absolutely clear. He is here for my mission and my path of service. Whether I wear him or not, he is a guardian for my walk in this world and to protect me in the seen and unseen realms. It was so simple and yet massive for me to embody that truth.

One of the biggest teachings I have ever recieved from Maya, is to sit with the medicine until you form a relationship. Whether it is an animal or an element, the relationship and the teachings are between you both. So if you feel called to go read a book about it or google it - the invitation is to go inwards and develop your personal relationship with the medicine. Once you do and the connection is made, the power and potency is far stronger than you can ever imagine.

I say thank you to my dear friend, sister, Mentor and Elder for gifting me such an incredible gift and for seeing me. I say thank you to Raven to our contract as sisters who carry Coyote on this path. And I say thank you to Deb for witnessing all of this unfolding with such love and care. And I say thank you for the Waters for bringing in the Fog, the thaw, the ice and the tears... the healing and the remembering are and always everything.

If you made it to the end of this note, I thank you for reading! And perhaps you will have a chance to meet this beautiful protector being who is now part of my life soon.

With deep love,

Rebecca
