Pray with me, please

The Earth feels feverish.

The imbalance within Mother Nature has been unfolding for decades, and it feels as though we are approaching an important threshold. When the Earth is out of balance, we cannot help but see reflections of that imbalance within humanity.

Choose a collective.

Choose a cause.

There are so many wars unfolding across our planet, yet many receive little attention beyond the regions they directly affect or the interests that shape our media, let alone the elements we are vying for or extracting.

Choose a culture, a faith, a people, an orientation, a gender, and you can see the division that is either dismantling to weaken the concept of unity, and maintaining chaos and wounds.

At the end of the day, our world is reflected in the natural world.

All of the answers have always been tied to the Earth and her creatures. You cannot deny that! There is a reason so many of us are hungry to connect with Indigenous teachings and Wisdom Keepers, because those of us from European blood lines, we were colonized long before those here on Turtle Island, and we are so far removed from our own indigeneity that we are starving to remember our earth-based wisdom where our ancestors literally lived by the cycles of the seasons, of the moon and the stars. We are seeking to remember if we get a niggle or a whisper and lean into those who still have some connection to their roots.

The country I live in here on Turtle Island is on fire. As I write this, hundreds of wildfires are burning across the country.. Fires are not new here; they have always happened. Indigenous people would do controlled fires to support regenerating growth in the soil, and I am not going to go into a teaching about fire in this note, and what is happening is not about that; it is a representation of systems that have been consciously dismantled. What I feel these fires mirror is something deeper than flames. They reflect systems rooted in separation. Systems that have forgotten our relationship with the living world and that prioritize extraction over reciprocity, power over stewardship, and profit over kinship. We live in a world that glorifies powers and greed and not right relationships with all living beings.

When we live as a consciousness steeped in this idea that we are separate from others, that we are higher or better than others, it makes it very easy to take from others. We believe that they are bad and we are good. We justify our actions because we do not see how every action or thought impacts them, us, or the greater collective. Those making these decisions see dollar signs, wealth, land mass, and power.

These fires across the country where I live affect all of us in some way. The people dying from heat waves in Europe affect all of us in some way. The people living through the devastation of war in the Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Europe affect all of us in some way.

The Amazon that is being depleted and the Indigenous peoples displaced affect all of us in some way. The Coral reefs that are dying, the water that is being polluted, the water that is being bought and sold and taken from lands and its indingenous people affect all of us in some way.

We breathe the same air.
We drink from the same waters.
We belong to the same living Earth.

I remember reading a few months back how a recent astronaut's worldview changed after going into space and looking back at the Earth. He stated that countries and border lines are absolutely false, that it is one world, one earth, all life living together.

What is happening on our planet is happening to all of us. Some are literally in it and need support - choose what that means to you. It is overwhelming if you try to support all the causes in the world; that is impossible. Choose what feels most aligned, and do your part.

Most importantly, we need to double down on understanding how the disease of separation and EGO is the root of the patriarchal structures and systems on this planet. In the path that I walk, it is the shadow of the 3rd altar.

And so I ask that you pray with me.

In your way - not in mine. In a way that feels most aligned to you. Regardless of your faith or culture, we all have ways to pray. And as a Shamanic Technology, prayer is powerful when we have clarity and point our prayer well.

To make a change, it starts within - how we see the world and how we walk it. To create a movement is when we have seen the change in ourselves, we begin to walk in that direction as a collective.

I am aware that my prayers may not see the shift in my lifetime, but I believe we can be part of this great change and plant the seeds for our children and their children. This is what it means to prepare to be a good ancestor.

I invite you to pray with me.

In your way. Every day that we can.

Every day, before you begin your work... before you open your phone... before you step into the noise... offer one Prayer for Unity.

One prayer for the Earth.

One prayer that dissolves separation first within yourself.

Because every movement begins in the unseen.

Let's start clearing the division, and call on the Prayer of Unity

With great love,

x Rebecca
