What Does It Mean to Become a Certified Breathwork Facilitator?
As I sit and reflect on our recent graduating practicum, where our newest cohort is all stepping into the modality of breath professionally, I reflect on the journey they have been on.
Becoming certified doesn't just mean you get a piece of card stock with your name and a logo from a school, or that you now know a breathwork technique and playlists because you're a "space holder".
Certification with a reputable school means you have walked through the fire of really high standards.
You not only know how to work with the modality, but you also understand how misinformed breath can harm a body and its person, and you spend almost a year becoming a seasoned space holder with exceptional intuition.
Those who train with us spend 400+ hours over the course of 10 months in deep learning.
The learning requires time to become embodied.
This space includes:
18 Case studies
Holding space for over 40 breathers
Three required books ( plus additional recommended list)
A full 10-week journey with the Presence Process
Numerous Guest teachers and experts
Accountability Buddies
4 Mentorship calls
Personal Breathwork Practice
9 months of wisdom teachings
1 in-person 3-day and 1 in-person week for deeper experiential learning as a co hort
ALL THIS IS WHAT PREPARES YOU to be a certified facilitator.
A truly certified breathwork professional is an embodied and grounded human who can hold space effectively without getting caught up in someone's process.
A truly certified breathwork professional is the hollow bone when your group of clients is moving through something deeply.
A truly certified breathwork professional understands why we require modifications and how contraindications can show up in a breather, and how to manage the situation when it arises.
A truly certified breathwork professional leaves their stories and projections at the door and does not let their ego take credit for the precious work each breather meets.
The truth is, anyone can get certified these days, but not all training is equal in its standard.
We believe in standards in our school, and we operate from a code of ethics and deep integrity. This is what creates clean space holding and strong boundaries for people's process through the breath.
Every year, we have a few students who are already certified breathwork professionals seeking a deeper teaching to meet these standards for the first one wasn't quite there.
If you feel called, join us and the Seven Directions Breathwork family, where once certified, you join a global family of colleagues who will meet those standards, ready to support and co-facilitate with you anywhere in the world!

Because of the standard they hold as facilitators, I trust each of them with my life.
